Our family loves Big Joy. This is our first choice for take out in the area. Everything we've had delivered has been very fresh. Love the authentic sweet and sour chicken and the sweet and sour soup is a God send when you've got the sniffles. The only reasoning didn't do five stars is because delivery time takes about an hour. Worth the wait!

Summary: Inexpensive, but great-quality, with great-service Chinese food in Stone Mountain Big Joy Chinese Restaurant is not a typical neighborhood Chinese restaurant. The neighborhood being referred to in this situation is Stone Mountain/Tucker. Big Joy is located on East Park Place off Highway 78. It's located next to a small bar called "Jack's Sports Bar & Grill". If you turn onto East Park from 78, it will be on your left side. There is a Panda Express within the vicinity, but I would definitely choose Big Joy if you were even thinking about comparing the two. My friend and I came here on a random week night before the dinner rush. They have a nice decor here and the service was amazing and beyond. We both got one of the combination plates that come with egg roll, soup, and a good portion of your choice of entree. I got the sesame chicken and it tasted amazing. It was soft, but crispy. The sauce was creamy. It wasn't too spicy or heavy. It was the perfect portion too and it was all under $9. The egg drop soup was amazing too. It was hot but not burn-your-tongue hot and flavorful. My friend and I also tried their pot stickers and they were a must-try. I would definitely come back here!

Big Joy is worth the drive to Stone Mountain for some of the best Asian food around! The spouse and I went recently for dinner with a big group - they have a large room perfect for private parties! We were sensuously stuffed until we could barely walk out the door. The steamed dumplings, lettuce wraps, beef and mushrooms, all of it was a dance party in my mouth. Everything our group had was pure deliciousness! But, the lobster tails, oh the lobster tails. Prepared in a sweet red sauce with the lobster perfectly cooked, I couldn't get enough. I will never get enough, I have to go back.

Amazing food! The salt and pepper shrimp and the lobster are sublime. Great staff too! Will definitely be back for more amazing food. The chicken wings are out of this world!

It wasn't the best. The women inside was very nice though and I'm sure the customer service is great if you eat in but the food just wasn't good. Cheap tasting pork that was super tough, but the sesame chicken wasn't terrible...just not our taste. The fried rice just tasted like white rice with some veggies In it. I think we have given up on the Chinese food search, haha.

The Mongolian Beef is Great. The restaurant needs a reno. looks dark and scary on one side that is always closed off to foot traffic. Everyone I know seems to like the food here

Being from NYC, I am pretty particular (read snobby) about Chinese food, being that here you can get an amazing variety that ranges from the sublime to the choke inducing. I was taken to Big Joy by family who live close by, and was initially somewhat skeptical because the place was nearly empty. I wasn't confident that I was in for anything other than bland pedestrian food. I was happily wrong. The food: Fresh, hot, and delicious, generous portions at a great price. Not to mention that the owner is a lovely person.

From the looks of the place, I feel like it needs to remodeled. The food was good, but I kind of thought it would be more(size wise) . For the dish I had got, they didn't put enough on the plate.

Authentic Chinese food. You know it's good when the employees eat the food they serve! Sundays they offer a buffet for a reasonably low price. The food is hot and good on the bar. It's not just sitting on the buffet bar, they cook more as needed,so it's always fresh.

One of the best Chinese Restaurants in this area. They make a great Mongolian Beef! Staff is friendly and restaurant experience is great!

Was disappointed with our last visit. First, the place used to be pretty popular - I like eating Chinese at places where there is a lot of people, especially Asian people. On a Friday night we were one of 3 groups eating in this large restaurant. It was very quiet, especially for a Friday night The food was just okay - the broccoli in the beef with broccoli was not good. The House Scallops was fair, as was the sesame chicken. The serving sizes were small, especially for the price paid. The price was a little steep. I do not plan to return here

I and my partner can't get enough of this place! It's close to home so we usually order takeaway and run down to pick it up a few minutes later. She gets the chicken chow mien with fried rice I get the Mongolian chicken or beef with steamed rice and pot-stickers. Everything is amazingly good. It comes out to under $25 and we eat it that night and then the next day for lunch. Best Chinese food in town!

I've never been inside the restaurant itself, but for delivery - it's the place we call. They have an $18 minimum order for delivery which you can get with two entrees and an appetizer. We usually opt for the crab rangoon. My last order was the assorted lo mien and I have enough left over for lunch. Big Joy is nothing to call home about, but it's good enough to call from home.

The service was slow, when the place didn't have many customers. i orders ribs and they were very tough. I will not be going back there...

Egg rolls. The key. If you want to know how your meal will turn out. That's it. Most Chinese food places have them under a heat lamp for who knows how long. Big Joy doesn't. Piping goodness. Fresh. Great. Palace Special soup. And it's not special in the short bus way. But in the way the word special was meant to be used. Hunan beef, great. As is the princess prawns dish. But what sets this place above the rest, aside from the great service and the cool fishtank, are the pot stickers. Really good. And the $6.95 Sunday lunch buffet is a great deal! This place may be out of the way, but it's a little bit of big joy and right off to the side of a freeway.

The food is alright but to me, not all that memorable. We tried it out because it's close to my job. To me, the sauces tasted the same. The potstickers are pork and the pork flavor overwhelmed me a bit. The food seemed really greasy. And the lunch proportion was pretty small. All of the soups on the lunch menu are the same price but when I asked to substitute one soup for another on the lunch combo's, there was a .50 charge...ummm..WTF! I was hungry again almost as soon as I got back to work. Service was nice and the atmosphere was pleasant, but definitely not my favorite Chinese restaraunt. Although, I'll probably end up going back just to give it another try. It's in a convenient location for me.

I have been eating here since I was born and I am 24. I love this place. It is family owned and operated. I always get the happy family and sizzling rice soup. It's enough for 2 or 3 ppl. I know they have a sunday morning buffet but I have never eaten it....so I can't comment on it. The prices are very fair and the food is great quality.

A pretty good little chinese joint for what it is. They are also quick to accommodate a short notice catering order so they definitely get my thanks for that. As for the food the beef rib appetizer is pretty good and the beef with broccoli stands out as well. Everything else we got was definitely pretty good and my clan of jackals that I ordered for were satisfied. Don't go here expecting the best chinese food, but if you're in the area and in a pinch, check them out.

Sizzling rice soup? Yum. Sizzling chicken with veggies? Yum. Crab Rangoon? Yum, yum, yum. It's far from anything remotely authentic, but boy was it ever delicious. The rice stayed crispy in the soup the entire time and it was always done fresh before your eyes. The food was flavorful and not overly salty, and even the fried rice was packed with vegetables and egg. Those crab rangoon though... man. Best I've had in such a long time that I'd almost forgotten how good they could really be. Mmmm...

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
